Serving Outside Our WallsReaching into the World
Members of CHUMC have many opportunities to spread the message of Jesus’ love through service and support in our community and into the far reaches of the world. Here are a few of them. Please consider how you can serve. If you have questions, please contact the person noted or the office and we will connect you. Signups for Helping Hands and the Bethesda Mobile Mission are at the Mission table in the Gathering Space. For additional information about any of these ministries, please contact the church office (chumc@camphillumc.org) and they will refer you to someone who can help you.

Sheltering Arms is a hands-on Mission Ministry meeting every Thursday afternoon from 1-3 pm in the Fireside Room to knit, sew and crochet for mission. Projects include sweaters for Guidepost’s Knit for Kids, blankets for Project Linus and Mission Central (knit, crocheted, quilted, and fleece tied), baby hats for Harrisburg Hospital, baby sweaters for UMCOR, hats, mittens and scarves for area shelters, and school bags for Mission Central. Our local caring is shown through our Prayer Shawl Ministry. Shawls/lap robes are knit and prayed over. They are distributed to our extended CHUM family – to folks in need of special caring in times of illness, bereavement or personal struggle through our Prayer Shawl Ministry co-coordinator, Elizabeth Piatt. Join us any Thursday afternoon for work, fellowship and afternoon tea. Contact Ann Huff 763-1343 for further information.
