Team Panguma

Welcome to Team Panguma!

Team Panguma is the name adopted for CHUM’s  mission relationship with our sister church in  Panguma, Sierra Leone.  The name originally referred to our team of eight people (Shawn Berrier, Fred Clark, Jim Foster, Beth Notarfrancesco, Denise Paran, Carolyn Shover, Pastor Brian Sweeney and Mark Vickrey) who visited Panguma in February-March 2010. Now it represents the relationship between the two churches.

Update ~ July 2010

Good news! The shipment of supplies from CHUMC to the Panguma UMC church and school has arrived in Freetown. Check out the photo below.

We have learned that the Bishop is in the process of assigning a new pastor to Panguma UMC. Until the new pastor has been relocated, the 85 boxes of school and church supplies will be safely stored in a warehouse in Freetown. Please pray for the transition in pastoral leadership at our sister church and the safe delivery of the supplies to their final destination soon.

We are still hoping that the reconstructed building that houses Panguma UMC will be dedicated this fall, with Pastor Brian and Fred Clark carrying the blessings of CHUMC to the celebration.
